Biographical Information
I was born and raised a Valley Girl in the San Fernando Valley, CA. I lived there most of my life, but now consider myself a Nevadan. I moved up here in 2004 for the fresh air, peaceful way of life, and no traffic! No, I don’t consider the ‘spaghetti bowl’ traffic! I brought with me my 4 dogs and my father in tow. I graduated from beautiful Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo with a B.S. where I studied architecture and interior design. I continue to participate yearly with the Cal Poly Rose Float Alumni Association at the Tournament of Roses Parade held in Pasadena. I paste, cut, crush, and arrange flowers, seeds, pedals, fruits and veggies to make a float. I received my Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix and have been teaching and substituting since 2006. I began teaching 4th grade here at Coral Academy of Science in 2008 and I’ve loved every minute. My students have placed in the top 20 in the Math Matters competition and some have gone on to the Regional Science Fair. I’m proud of them all. I’m a mother of 2 beautiful little kids, a boy and a girl, both of whom aren’t old enough for school yet. Until recently I had 5 dogs. I am active in the animal therapy circles and belong to the local chapter of Paws for Love. I’ve competed in dog agility, love cooking, quilting, but most of all I love playing with my kids.
