About Coral

Coral Academy of Science

Public Charter STEAM School

Science │ Technology │ Engineering │ Arts │Mathematics

Coral Academy of Science  is a tuition free K-12 public charter school sponsored by the WCSD and serving over 1,300 students in the Reno area. Coral Academy was established in 2000 with a strong emphasis in Math and Science with only 57 students in 7th and 8th grades.

In 2008, the Coral Academy of Science Elementary Campus was opened on Valley Road, and on August 10, 2015, Coral Academy opened a state-of-the-art high school campus at 6275 Neil Road.

Coral Academy provides a safe learning environment supported by a diverse community and student body that is dedicated to a rigorous college preparatory and career ready curriculum.

CAS is the largest charter school in Washoe County, serving over 1350 students, including 292 high school students from multiple municipalities and cities.

CAS has created a college preparatory culture which starts at our elementary campus and germinates throughout a child’s career during middle school and ripens at our high school and beyond.  The expectation at CAS, beginning from kindergarten, is not “Will you go to college?” but “which college will you attend?”
