Please call in advance if you would like to take a tour. Tours are suspended during
state-mandated testing periods.

Admission Priority
CAS’s charter limits class size to an average of 25 students (1-12) and less for the
kindergarten classes, thus there is a maximum number of students that may be enrolled
in each grade. Admission priority for the school year is as follows:
• Currently enrolled/returning students,
• Currently enrolled/returning students’ siblings,
• Students of faculty/board members, and
• New student applicants.
Enrollment Process for Currently Enrolled Students
Current students will be provided “Intent to Return” forms each February via our
website, and have until mid-February to complete the form.
Enrollment Process for Siblings of Returning Students and
Students of Faculty Members
After the total number of returning students has been tallied and the number of available
enrollments has been determined, siblings of returning students and children of faculty
members will be given the opportunity to enroll.
***Please note: If you enter an answer of NO on the Intent to Return form OR do not fill
out the Intent to Return form within a given time, this relinquishes your child’s enrollment
at CAS and their spot will be filled. It is also worth noting: If CAS receives a Request of
Records from another school despite an affirmative answer on the Intent to Return form,
we will attempt to confirm with parents/guardians via phone call or email. If no response
is given within 5 (five) school days or the parents/guardians confirm the request, the
student’s placement will be relinquished to the requesting school and the space will be
filled. To regain entry into CAS, the lottery/application process must be followed as it
was upon initial entry into CAS***
The lottery will be held within the first few weeks of March each school year.
***Applications that contain false information or that do not provide complete information
will result in voiding that application.***
***Elementary applicants will be included in the lottery for the campus selected on the
application. A student may not have an application at both elementary locations. If two
applications are submitted by any student, the second submission will be voided***
***Incomplete applications will not be placed in the lottery.***
Enrollment Process for New Students
Remaining open enrollments for new students will be processed using a lottery system:
• For each grade, the applications for new students will be drawn in a random order to
establish a call list.
• Parents/guardians will be contacted via the phone number or email provided on the
application starting mid-March. Two attempts will be made to contact applicants; after
the second attempt, the application will be considered void and the applicant will be
required to re-apply in order to be considered for enrollment.
The Nevada Legislature amended the age guidelines for kindergarten for all public and
charter schools. For entry into kindergarten, students must be 5 on or before August 1,
of the year they intend to enter kindergarten.
Alternating from Campus to Campus (Elementary)
Once a student is enrolled with Coral Academy, provided the Intent to Return is
completed each year, the student will automatically move from one campus to the next
(ES–>MS–>HS) without further registration requirements.
For elementary applications, the student will be placed on the selected campus for
lottery purposes. After the lottery process has taken place and the student is on the
waitlist, should availability become open at the other location, that position may be
offered to the student. This is only IF the other location has completed contacting all on
their specific waiting list. Should this offer be declined, it does not void your application
for your original campus choice, and your student will remain on the waitlist for the
original campus chosen. Should this offer be accepted, that would then void the
application at your original campus of choice.
Each year upon the release of the Intent to Return, an option for elementary campus
preference will be given. Coral Academy will review all preferences and make every
effort to accommodate them, however, Coral Academy can not guarantee a transfer be
honored. Availability must be open in order to make campus location transfers.
The window for beginning-of-the-year transfers will close on August 1, of each academic
year. Mid-year transfers will only be allowed during semester breaks and only if there is
space available at the desired campus. Mid-year campus transfer requests must be
submitted in writing to sslaten@coralacademy.org.
Completing the Registration Process
Applicants who are contacted and wish to enroll will be required to complete a
Registration Packet provided by CAS and must return the completed packet with all required
documentation and fee payments within the time allotted to CAS to reserve the
enrollment. There is a one-time $50 book deposit for all grade levels. Should a student
leave Coral Academy, this book deposit is refundable upon request provided all books
have been returned to CAS with only minimal, expected wear and tear. Kindergarten
through fifth-grade consumable fees are $160 per semester; sixth through twelfth-grade
consumable fees are $110 per semester. There are two semesters per school year and
these fees, for consumables, are non-refundable.
Applicants who are not selected in the lottery will remain on the waiting list and will be
contacted if an open enrollment becomes available. This may occur at any point after
March, as CAS continues to enroll even after school starts for each school year.
Please note, any applicant not called for the specified school year must reapply the
following year to be included in the next year’s lottery. Applications do not roll over from
year to year.
