About us
Coral Academy of Science Middle School proudly serves students in 5th-8th grade. We believe in an engaging, rigorous curriculum that is focused on STEAM education. We are able to build strong relationships with our students and parents by limiting our class sizes to 25 or fewer students. We are committed to a diverse learning environment where everyone feels safe.
We offer PLTW, in which Students will experience hands-on, project-based activities that promote the development of critical thinking skills. Students will use the design process to create their own inventions or innovations to solve real-world problems.

Clubs
School clubs are not just a great way to have some fun after school. In fact, it has been shown that participating in our free after school clubs allows students to build social and emotional skills as they interact with others who share similar interests. They also help boost confidence and increase creativity. Coral Academy recognizes and embraces this, offering free after-school clubs at each campus.

Administrators
Cheryl Garlock, Principal
Miss Garlock has been at Coral Academy since 2002. She came as the Assistant Principal and became Principal eight years ago. Before she came to Coral Academy she was at a private school for eleven years as a teacher and then Assistant Principal. The last two years, she was Assistant Principal and grant writer. She started her teaching career in an inner city school back east as a math teacher for fifth through eighth grade. She became an Assistant Principal in her second year, but continued teaching. She enjoyed the three schools she has been at. They all taught her different things that have helped shape her as an educator.
Siobain Pacheco, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Pacheco is the Assistant Principal at the middle school and has always loved academics, so after earning a MA in history she decided teaching would be rewarding. She started working at Coral Academy as a social studies teacher in 2008. After earning her Educational Specialist degree in Leadership, she was hired as the Assistant Principal. She loves collaborating with the teachers to improve our curriculum, academics, and testing. She is privileged to work with a wonderful group of students and faculty!
Brad Goodwin, Dean of Students
Mr. Goodwin joined Coral Academy of Science in the Fall of 2013 as a Social Studies teacher. He took on roles including 7th grade chair, Social Studies chair, and an increasing number of responsibilities as the school grew and the need increased. He is now the middle school dean. His responsibilities include scheduling, support in Infinite Campus for teachers, discipline support, testing scheduling and logistics, technology for teachers and staff, as well as several other responsibilities.
Ester Ocon, Registrar
Mrs. Ocon is the Registrar for the Middle School. Prior to accepting her position in June of 2021 as a Registrar for Coral, she worked for the State of Nevada. She has a combination of 6 years in the Finance industry. She also enjoyed a few years as a stay-at-home mom raising her children while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a Minor in Digital Marketing. In addition, she provides accounting services for small businesses. She looks forward to many years with Coral Academy!
