About us
Coral Academy of Science North Elementary School houses over 400 scholars in grades K-5. As a college preparatory school, we offer challenging and engaging curriculums to our students, taught by highly qualified teachers. All students also enjoy weekly enrichment classes in Physical Education, Music, Art Engineering, Computer Science, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). An extension of the school day is offered to every scholar with free after-school tutoring and clubs.
Community partnerships, family engagement, and academic competitions are implemented regularly at Coral Academy. As a free school of choice, the partnership between parents, teachers, and administration provides a unique collaboration to foster every child’s needs while enriching the whole student.
On-site before and after-school child care is also available for all enrolled students, in addition to transportation with other community partners who offer child care. Childcare providers are not sponsored by the Coral Academy of Science, so they require a monetary commitment.

Clubs
School clubs are not just a great way to have some fun after school. In fact, it has been shown that participating in our free after-school clubs allows students to build social and emotional skills as they interact with others who share similar interests. They also help boost confidence and increase creativity. Coral Academy recognizes and embraces this, offering free after-school clubs at each campus.

Administrators
Colleen Quayle, Principal
Mrs. Quayle taught both elementary and middle school students from 1995-2016 in the states of Michigan, Texas, and Nevada. After teaching at Coral Academy of Science for 5 years, she moved into administration at CAS, first as the Dean of Students and now as our current Principal. Her education includes a BS in Education from Central Michigan University, MS in Education from Spring Arbor University, and MS in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
Shannon Frabbiele, Dean of Students
Mrs. Shannon Frabbiele has been a proud member of the Coral Family for six years and has been committed to the education profession ever since she stepped into the classroom as a paraprofessional, 17 years ago. Her love of travel has not only provided her the opportunity to live in multiple states but work in a multitude of school settings: private, public (title 1), and charter. While teaching elementary-age and students with special needs, Mrs. Frabbiele honed her grant writing skills and received funding to support various school programs. She was a Teacher Mentor, and a co-chair of Coral Academy’s longstanding PBIS program at the middle school. Mrs. Frabbiele graduated with her second Master’s degree, in July 2022, in the areas of Administration and Leadership and is looking forward to utilizing her degree to empower every student and staff member as they find joy in learning and advance their skill sets.
